We made it to Chicago—truck, camper and all. We found a truck parking lot just outside of the city and took an Uber the rest of the way. Surprisingly, among all of the trucks and trailers, a few other RVs were parked there as well.
This sculputure is “Cloud Gate” most commonly referred to as “the Bean” because its shape looks like a bean. The artist named it “Cloud Gate” because it reflects the clouds and sky above it. This giant shiny sculpture is located in Chicago’s Millennium Park.

The flowers and gardens in the city were impressive.
We stopped by the Chicago Public Library to view the largest TIffany glass dome in the world.
Chicago deep dish pizza was on the menu, of course!
Despite not parking in the city, we still had to drive through it after taking an Uber back to our truck and camper. We couldn’t resist a picture of “the rig” in the heart of downtown Chicago.
Those of us who weren’t too keen on the city still enjoyed the day, while those who loved it could have happily stayed much longer!
Next stop: Wisconsin and Minnesota.
