Looks like an Erie canal bike rider is camping out here.  There’s a bike path along the canal, much of it is the old tow path (path originally  used in the early days of the canal for mules to pull the boats along)

Someone is building their dream home along the canal.  The men who originally built this canal must never have imagined water front homes along the canal.

Had breakfast after the first lock today. Started with some hot chocolate to warm up after that first lock.

Hot chocolate this morning.

Cooking breakfast while underway, thanks to the generator!

Sun was shing when we left with just a little steam on the water, but shortly after the first lock of the morning the fog set in.

Fog set in for a short while.

Many different types of communities along the canal.

Playground off the canal, made a quick stop!

Crossing Cross Lake. Took less than an hour.

Jumping in Cross Lake.  Timing worked out well.  This was at about noon. Any earlier and we would have been to cold to jump in.

The days start out cool, but they warm up fast with the sun.  By noon we are out of jeans and into shorts!

Camper and RV park along the canal. A lot of the set ups here looked like people are here for the full season.

Looks like someone converted their camper to a camper pontoon boat.

Original aqueduct.

Lots of working gear here, seemed to be one of the “public works” of the canal.
